People are always asking me...

"Which is the best way to get my license
& learn to be a Ham?"

Well, everybody is different. Some clubs like our own at YARC and WECA have a program called "Elmering". A seasoned Ham becomes your Elmer. Your Elmer educatates you on how to be a responsible & productive member of the amateur society. It truly is alot of fun for both. Another great thing about the Elmer program is it will get you on the air under your Elmers supervision and license. It could be almost immeadiate, or he could choose to wait until you show positive progress. Check with your local clubs and see if there is someone willing to Elmer you.

If you are in the Yonkers area visit
www.YARC.org

or visit the AARL web site at www.ARRL.org
to locate a club near you!

To learn Ham Radio on your own I recomend HamTestOnline
It will give you the basics and teach at your speed. It goes over anything you are not retaining until you do.

Tell Harold you learned about his great program from Mike KA2FBL.

Oh, and send for the bumper sticker.
Tell the world what we do every day!

HamTestOnline - online courses for the ham radio exams

Our sites receive an average of 80,000 to 95,000 hits a month. You are enjoying our work for
FREE. Please donate to the Yonkers PAL Ham Radio Club education fund. We buy Amateur Radio text books, lend them to future Hams, Mentor & administer the FCC Exam.
After they pass the test they trade the text book in for the next class of license book!

Text books cost $21 and the FCC exam is $14. Donate what you can. Every dollar helps!
Use Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, or Paypal.
Just click the button and it will take you to the donation page.
